The newest performance by Rimas Tuminas set up mostly by working with his students, young actors from Small Theatre. By this play, the director continues exploring the possibilities of open theatre.
I have a feeling that Chekhov all throughout his life was guided by his childhood, the light of that childhood. The childhood has a glow, because it holds the feeling of safety. You feel safe, because you are surrounded by your own people, by relatives. As the family diminishes, you start loosing that safety. I am fascinated with the vanished. The idea was to create special platform, a stage for the lost childhood, lost security. Most often it remains silent, just like our unawakened thought, but sometimes it flashes out the most important episodes of our life.
