Soloist VADYM KHOLODENKO (piano, Russia)
With the Vilnius City Municipality
ST. CHRISTOPER CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
Conductor DONATAS KATKUS

If F. Liszt, the most famous pianist of all time, were alive today, who knows how his musical duel with phenomenal pianist Vadym Cholodenko, would end...

The twenty-one year old virtuoso, who has already been showered with distinguished awards, and has played with Jurijus Bašmet, Alion Baeva and other world-renowned Russian stars, is currently unstopable in his goal to reach Olympian heights of recognition. However, Olympus is not his greatest concern, nor is his career, but it is the heights of art that most entice the pianist. His flying hands and quick fingers have not been created to blind audiences in a spectacle of rapid acrobatics, but to awaken strong emotions created through this soul-penetrating Slavic interpretor's classical sonatas. Known for his extraordinary virtuosity, musical strength and imagination, the musician is a student of legendary pedagogue Vera Gornastajeva, and laureate of prestigious contests, proving in his concerts that nothing is impossible...
To mark the closing of the Christopher's Claviers cycle, a unique opportunity to hear the pianist, along with the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra together perform W. A. Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 and R. Schumann's Piano Quintet.

Programme features W. A. Mozart, R. Schumann
