International Alternative and Subculture Music Festival „REGENERATOR“
International Alternative and Subculture Music Festival „REGENERATOR“ the first time was organised in summer 2006. Gripping and various music program was succeeded without keeping strict genre bounds: reggae, ska, dub, funk, electronica and other styles representatives from Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, England and Italy performed on REGENERATOR‘S stage. Moreover, Art and Music Workshops (percussion, acting, contact dancing improvisations), outdoor games, cinema, fire masters performances. Standing high in Vilnius residents favour such bars as „Play“ and „Satta“ were opened during the festival. As well there was a possibility to try delicacies of complementary kitchen.
During the next REGENERATOR‘08, which will be held on the 22nd – 24th of August in Ignalina’s district, the foregone developed traditions will be kept as well as music program will be noticeably expanded. International music projects will be performed on four different music stages. One of the innovations – the introduction of Indian music stage which audience will get acquainted with classic and modern interpretations of Indian music. Alternative stage musicians will present the interpretations of contemporary music styles.
Furthermore, we are glad to have a theatrical space in which two performative projects will be unrolled: mono dance performance „Throughout“ (done by B. Sarka) and audiovisual poetry project „Basma and Chna“.
When you start to worry about the end of summer, you can dip into embrance of nature one more time, to give all yourself to rithm of African, reggae, funk, dub, electro beat, dance, sing, swim. Imagine yourself picking up flowers, playing football, climbing in oaks, playing djambe, runinng with bare feets and forgeting everything in the world...
